Elderberry Tincture

Elderberry, Sambucus nigra, are employed for wellness supporting benefits, especially during the winter months. Elderberry may support immune health to help you stay feeling your best and supports the body’s immune defenses to stay feeling healthy.

Our current offering of elderberry tincture comes to us from certified organic stands of Sambucus nigra. Dried berries are macerated in organic alcohol by our expert team to create an effective extract. Elderberry extract is dark in color and tastes sweet. It can be blended with other extracts to create a wide range of formulations, such as with propolis extract or echinacea extract. Try adding elderberry tincture to culinary recipes such as smoothies, oatmeal, mocktails, herbal teas, and syrups. This extract can also simply be taken directly on the tongue or in water.

A tincture is substance that contains an herbal medicine in an alcohol solution. The herbs are soaked, shaken, and carefully strained from grain alcohol. This creates a strong solution of the extracted active nutrients from plants to form a concentrated liquid. This solution is then consumed because of its medicinal properties and easily absorbed into the bloodstream.

 Dosage:

• Shake bottle well, open and squeeze the dropper bulb
• 1 droppers full, 2-5X a day
• Release the recommended serving (as per each label) into at least 2 oz of water or juice
• For the best results, repeat this process as directed by the Suggested Use instructions on the product label.
• A single “dropper full” in a standard tincture bottle is around 1 ml, and a teaspoon is 5 ml.
• This tincture can also be taken straight without water. However, it is recommended that you dilute it in 4 - 6 oz of water, tea (iced or hot), or juice.
  

Contradictions - Always check your medication for compatibility when supplementing with herbs and alternative healing methods. The raw fruit contains a component sambunigrin which may cause vomiting and severe diarrhea if ingested. We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.
