Skullcap Tincture

Skullcap, Scutellaria lateriflora, is a member of the mint family. Early European immigrants learned the use of skullcap from Native Americans, who had traditionally utilized the botanical as soothing tea for supporting the nerves.

Our skullcap extract is crafted with organic skullcap leaves and alcohol. Somewhat bitter and verdant in flavor, it can be combined with a variety of extracts including valerian, passionflower, or chamomile. Skullcap tincture is commonly taken in water or juice or added to teas such as peace tea or evening repose tea for a healthful boost.

A tincture is substance that contains an herbal medicine in an alcohol solution. The herbs are soaked, shaken, and carefully strained from grain alcohol. This creates a strong solution of the extracted active nutrients from plants to form a concentrated liquid. This solution is then consumed because of its medicinal properties and easily absorbed into the bloodstream.

 Dosage:

• Shake bottle well, open and squeeze the dropper bulb
• 1 droppers full, 2-5X a day
• Release the recommended serving (as per each label) into at least 2 oz of water or juice
• For the best results, repeat this process as directed by the Suggested Use instructions on the product label.
• A single “dropper full” in a standard tincture bottle is around 1 ml, and a teaspoon is 5 ml.
• This tincture can also be taken straight without water. However, it is recommended that you dilute it in 4 - 6 oz of water, tea (iced or hot), or juice.
